Rainy Weekend Special

What to do on a rainy, almost summer weekend?

Watch Kaela graduate. Bring an umbrella.

Everything else is up in the air. What about you?
Maybe …

I know I need to put the mountainous pile of the books upstairs away. Is this the weekend? Maybe just read a new one. What chore have you been putting off?

Experiment with a new recipe? Not feeling creative? Bake Espresso Brownies.

Feeling house bound, bored or worse?

Anyone up for a movie? The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is playing at the Red River in Concord. (Just back … the movie was fantastic!)

Or try a new restaurant? Settle for an old favorite?

And since a restaurant two or three nights in a row sounds a bit over the top … I’m thinking at least one very casual evening at home. Maybe invite a few friends around and start off with a glass of wine, Tapenade with fresh veggies and a few Roasted Almonds.

For the main event keep it simple but fun with Flatbread with Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions and Spinach and a big bowl of Caesar Salad.

And something sweet? Don’t forget you already made brownies!

Stay dry and have a good weekend! Bon appétit!

  1. Hi Susan. We have a rainy weekend forecast here in Ohio as well. Since I normally spend all nice warm days outside I have a lot of housework inside to catch up on (not so much fun). I’ll be baking some cupcakes and when all else fails … go shopping! Have a great weekend! Cheryl
