Talk about cold! Phew, what a week! And we’re not done with the bone numbing temperatures. Not by a long shot. There are a lot of frigid days and nights to come before spring. So, how do you survive a New Hampshire winter evening? Settle in by the fire with a steaming mug of wonderful soup.
How to start? Invite a few of your nearest and dearest friends over, light and settle in for a few cozy hours. Open a bottle of wine and serve up some Gorgonzola & Walnut Shortbread with Savory Fig Jam or Savory Parmesan Shortbread with Tomato Jam.
Don’t forget to add a small bowl of warm Rosemary Cashews and Spicy Olives.
Stay by the fire for a souper supper. For warm and cozy, nothing beats a mug of great soup. Try my Hearty Black Bean Soup or a fabulous Lobster-Corn Chowder. set out a platter of warm and toasty Sweet Potato & Goat Cheese Crostini or Roasted Mushroom & Fontina Crostini.
And dessert? How about a Rustic Apple Tart. Serve it warm from the oven with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream. Or enjoy a little drama with a flaming Bananas Foster and end the evening with a cozy cup of Spicy Chai.
