Oscar Night Special – PJs & Tapas Party

slippers_02Sunday is Oscar night. According to someone, I’m not sure who, Oscar Night is the super bowl of Girls Night Out. So, call up a few of your favorite gal pals and invite them over for a great evening with the stars.

For a comfy evening, encourage everyone to wear their jammies and slippers. Make it elegant and easy by asking everyone to bring with a fabulous tapas to pass.

What could be better than watching the stars in your pajamas and nibbling delicious small bites? Ask everyone bring a dish to pass, put some champagne in the snow to cool and print up the score cards. In case someone needs some help with what to bring … here are a few suggestions:

For old school glam? It is the Oscars after all, you will want serve Savory Blinis with Smoked Salmon & Caviar.

For cozy? It is winter, right? Add a few of my Spanish Stuffed Mushrooms.

For even cozier, try my Tartelettes au Fromage avec Saucisse et Poireaux (Cheese Tartlets with Sausage & Leeks).

Or winter be damned with my Summer Rolls !

Don’t forget your veggies with my Butternut Squash Crostini with Goat Cheese & Balsamic Reduction.

Spinach too with my Spanakopita Triangles. You can make them in advance, bake a few and freeze a few another soirée.

Just in time for the final statues, bring out a sweet treat or two. Who wouldn’t love a mini cupcake … especially my Double Trouble Chocolate-Orange Cupcakes. Then again, my Triple Threat Brownies are irresistible.

If that all sounds like too much work … how about a mug of Tomato Soup and a big bowl of Popcorn? Still want to end the show with something sweet? My Peanut Butter Brownies are a definite fan favorite.

Enjoy the party! Bon appétit!

What are your plans for Oscar Night? I’d love to hear from you! Let’s get a conversation going.
